Sonya Greck

Sonya has over 30 years of senior leadership experience in healthcare operations.  She has held executive-level positions in healthcare development and operations in both rural and urban healthcare organizations to include physician services. 

Most recently, Sonya served as Mission Health’s Senior Vice President of Behavioral Health, Safety Net, Community Investment and Facilities in Asheville, NC.  In this role for a Top 15 Health System in six of seven years (2012-2018),  she oversaw, directly and indirectly, Behavioral Health inpatient and outpatient services, Community Investment partnerships and funding, Safety Net Services for vulnerable populations, and Facilities development and management.  Additionally, Sonya led the planning and oversaw construction for Mission Hospital’s North Tower, a 630,000 square foot addition to Mission Health’s flagship hospital that includes cutting-edge technology, an Emergency Department that’s more than double in size, and mobile technology to help patients and families navigate inside the hospital.

Sonya has led significant systems’ change efforts and fiscal operations.  Her strategic and operational leadership within large health systems as well as in smaller hospitals has resulted in the growth of facilities, programs and initiatives that led a significant improvement in  quality, community and regional collaborations, improved care, and reduced costs.  Over the past five years, Sonya also has focused on aligning healthcare services and the community  to develop effective continuum of care models.

Sonya is actively involved in her community and has served on a number of Boards, including Buncombe County Health and Human Services.  She received her BSN from Clemson University and earned her MSN from the University of South Carolina.
